My name is Maria Eugenia Valarezo Mesias.  I have had the joy and dream of joining this Sports Nutrition Master’s Program with having my focus be on sustainability.  Being a medical doctor, I started realizing how important it was to understand where our food comes from to effect health.  This program has let me experience being a farmer, a chef, a restaurant manager, and a scientist into understanding the gigantic process that is getting food to our tables.  I hope to bring these skills back to my patients, local schools, and to Ecuador where my family lives.  In the meantime, I am also enjoying adventures in wonderful Colorado with my husband and dog who are always supporting me, but you all know which one supports me more.
